Alyssa Carmody, L.M.H.C.Alyssa Carmody, L.M.H.C.

Hi! My name is Alyssa Carmody, L.M.H.C. I have my masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and I have been working in the field for five years. I received my M.S. from Salem State University.

I have worked at Lahey Health Behavioral Services, SEEM Collaborative, and Burlington Community Life Center. I have ample experience working with children, including those with special needs (primarily those with behavioral concerns and those individuals on the autism spectrum). I have worked with children since before receiving my degree in both a school and agency setting.

My education and experience doesn't stop there, my internship in 2009 was family focused, using the Family System Model. I really enjoy family work and I have continued to work with families since. I also have extensive experience working with parents and caregivers on parenting styles, approaches and techniques. I recently worked with Lahey Health for several years with a variety of populations; we were client centered and my therapy approaches reflect that. Although I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) approaches during sessions, I do not limit my approaches to such.

I do believe in solution focused work, as well as taking a humanistic approach through making a connection with the individual using empathy, listening and understanding.

If you're a family, a couple, a child, an adolescent or an adult in need, feel free to reach out. I look forward to working with you and creating a treatment plan (with you) that fits your needs.
