Ann Peabody, LMHC

I am a licensed mental health counselor with a specialty in art therapy and an orientation towards mindfullness and self-compassion when dealing with many life stressors. I enjoy working with a variety of ages and have extensive experience in both teaching and group work with concerns related to divorce, grief, teenagers, autism, and elders.

I enjoy helping individuals and families with issues related to depression, anxiety, anger, personal growth, peer relationships, family conflicts, separation and divorce, loss and grief, and life transitions. I use both talk therapy, where I am an empathic and responsive listener, and expressive therapies. I encourage people to discover their own solutions and strenghts as they explore feelings, and thoughts and concerns.

I am a graduate of Lesley University, where I also taught, with an MA in Expressive Therapies. I have 19 years experience with both counseling and expressive therapy and have worked in school settings, nursing homes, Hospice, private practice, and agencies where I introduced sandtray therapy, another creative expression useful for developing insight and self-awareness. My focus with people is self-empowerment and that choices in life are consistent with their goals.
